I have 9 lavender orpington chicks and 6 black/split to lavender chicks( these are black chicks, but they carry the lavender gene, so when they lay eggs, the chicks can be lavender or black. I use the black chicks to keep the lavender big and fluffy and maintain feather quality. See my fb page Heaven-O Hollow for pictures of My chickens. Located just outside Deridder.
