What skills we are looking for to join or be a part of our Ranch team
Ranch hand/ Stable hand (you'll get paid for this or we can do trades you work for us you get free riding lessons & housing in exchange)
• Excercise rider & groom
• Help with fence work & general ranch maintenance
• Help feed & check water
• Help keep an eye out for health issues
• Help with turnout & hold horses for vet, farrier ect
• Show horses or ride them in jackpot barrel racing
• Assist once in a while with getting horses ready for a lesson
• Assist with sorting/ penning and moving cows from one pasture to another on horseback
• Have experience with branding cows and horses
• Roping and working ranch skills
Riding Lesson Instructor (you come up with your own price & schedule we just want $20 out of it you pocket the rest, housing and boarding will be available)
• Western and english
• Can also double as the ranch personal trainer
• Ground work skills
• Natural horsemanship skills
• Familiar with Clint Anderson, Pat Pareli and Monty Roberts methods
• Have show experience
• Act as a Barn Manager
• Be okay with getting certifications the ranch will pay for it
• Help coordinate events and clinics, schedules
Equine Photography Assistant (yes you get paid for this)
• Help hold the horse
• Know how to make a horse stand square
• Help with getting the horses ears forward for good portraits
• Familiar with horse conformation, different types of horse breeds
• Be a secondary photographer
• Videographer
• Help advertise and promote the ranch
• Help sell merchandise
• Help with creating flyers for events, clinics ect
Groundskeeper (yes you will get paid for this or work for housing and free lessons)
• Pasture & grounds maintenance
• Equine facility care
• Arena management
• Equipment Operator
• Plant flowers/ gardens
• Help decorate the ranch & get set up for events and clinics
• Must have horse knowledge, basic carpentry, welding, or mechanical skills
Youth Volunteer
• Help out in exchange for free
riding lessons
• Assist riding instructors
• Intern for experience with working with horses
• Help clean up the ranch and make it presentable
• Help promote the ranch name
• Help get horses ready for shows
We can only afford to hire one postion right now till the ranch gets on its feet and is drawing in the money. We are starting from the ground up so must be comfortable working in a growing ranch environment and can help us get on our feet. Also must be willing to work for or under the ranch. We are located in Simpson Louisiana.
